Vaccinations, medication and travel advice

Travel Assessment

If you are travelling abroad please make sure you contact us in plenty of time to arrange any vaccinations that may be necessary, at least 8 weeks before travelling.  You will need to complete a travel form and book an initial telephone appointment with the Practice Nurse to discuss your travel arrangements.

S second appointment will be required with the Practice Nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. We recommend that you receive all your vaccines at least 2 weeks before you travel as some vaccines are not effective until 10 days after you have them.

Some travel vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine and some are not included in the services provided by the NHS and will incur a charge. If sufficient time is not allowed then it may not be possible to offer you an appointment at the Practice. In these instances we will advise you to attend a Private Health Clinic who will charge you for the service.

Do you need vaccinations?

Before you travel, it’s important to find out whether you will need vaccinations for the country you’re visiting. The following websites will help you.
